Fly Fish the Lower Laguna Madre on Texas' Southernmost Coast
"A man has got to believe in something, I believe I'll go fishing"
WHY THE LOWER LAGUNA MADRE
Fly-fish the Lower Laguna Madre on Texas' Southernmost Coast with Laguna Madre Outfitters. Sight-cast to redfish, trout, and more in ankle to knee deep clear water in North America's westernmost saltwater flats fishery. Countless backcountry lakes, seagrass meadows, and endless sand flats make the Lower Laguna Madre a unique hidden-gem among world-class fishing destinations.
A twenty-five minute drive from Valley International Airport (HRL) in Harlingen makes this saltwater flats fishery more accessible than most. A quick and easy getaway from many major airports in the US, Laguna Madre Outfitters can take care of everything else once you arrive.
We make it hassle-free from the airport to the bow of the skiff with turn-key lodging packages including guided fishing, waterfront lodging, full kitchen, pick-up/drop via skiff dockside, and airport shuttles.
Laguna Madre Outfitters is owned and operated by Captain Ben Paschal. Ben was raised in Texas where he picked up a fly rod at age eleven, started tying flies at age thirteen, and began working at fly shops when he was eighteen. Since graduating from Texas A&M University, he has been a full time fishing guide at world-class fishing destinations such as Colorado, Alaska, Argentina, and Chile. With years of world-wide guide experience molding his career, he saw an opportunity to create a logistically seamless experience for his customers by guiding and hosting them on Texas' southernmost coast. After years of travel, Ben has finally found his home water.
Ben will be hosting fishermen during a split season calendar (April/May/June/July and October/November/December) in 2013 as he is still splitting his time between the Lower Laguna Madre, Alaska, and South America. He is offering a turnkey lodging package with dockside skiff pickup, airport shuttles, and guided fishing. If you have arranged your own lodging, we are happy to launch out of South Padre Island or Port Mansfield.
